Men's Tennis Opens NCAAs with Northwestern on Friday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team will open play at the 2009 NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 8, taking on Northwestern at 10 a.m. The Demon Deacons will play the first two rounds at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. Live Scoring for the match will be available here.
Wake Forest is the second-seeded team for the site and the Wildcats are the three-seed.
Wake Forest and Northwestern have faced each other twice since 2006. The Deacons won both contests, shutting out the Wildcats in their 2007 matchup.
Senior Marc Dwyer out of Peachtree City, Ga. leads NU at the top of the singles lineup with a 10-14 record. He will likely face Wake Forest's Cory Parr at No. 1, who recently moved up to No. 10 in the national rankings. Parr is 22-5 in dual matches this season.
Playing in the later first round match is top-seeded Kentucky and the site's 4-seed, Cleveland State.
