BOSTON, MASS. - Wake Forest junior Anna Nosenko finished in third place overall at the 2010 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in Boston, Mass. on Saturday morning en route to earning All-ACC honors. The Wake Forest men's team finished in sixth place overall with 209 total points, while the women's squad claimed seventh place with 206 points.

Florida State claimed both the women's and men's team titles, finishing with 52 points and 43 points, respectively. North Carolina State freshman Laura Hoer took the individual title, finishing first with a time of 20:04.4 on the 6k course.

Senior Emil Heineking of Virginia finished first on the men's side for the second consecutive year in 23:40.1, edging out teammate Ryan Collins by a mere four tenths of a second in the 8k race.

Nosenko finished first for the Deacons for the third consecutive meet and earned All-ACC honors for the first time in her career. Nosenko was named the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2008 after finishing first among all freshmen in 16th place at the ACC Championships. Her time of 20:10.6 surpassed her previous best 6k time of the season by more than 35 seconds and placed her only six seconds behind the top finisher.

Freshman Nicole Irving had a stellar performance on the afternoon, finishing second for the Deacs and 27th overall with a season-best 6k time of 21:12.5. Irving was the fourth freshman to cross the finish line on the morning. Sophomore Allison Homer was not far behind Irving, claiming 39th place in a time of 21:33.7.

After Homer crossed the line, there was a large gap in the next pack of Deacon runners, as seniors Cate Berenato (22:50.8) and Caitlin Crawford (22:51.5) finished in 83rd and 84th place, respectively. Casey Fowler was not far behind her senior teammates, finishing in 86th place with a time of 22:54.2.

Rounding out the scoring totals for Wake Forest were freshmen Melanie Powers and Lindsay Kerr, as they crossed the line in 23:20.2 and 23:55.6, respectively.

Senior Greg Billington led the way for the men's squad with a 26th place overall finish and a time of 24:32.9. Fellow senior Tom Divinnie once again turned in a solid performance for the Demon Deacons, crossing the line in 24:51.6 to claim 36th place.

Redshirt freshman Devin Huizenga continued to improve upon his late season burst to the front of the Wake Forest pack, finishing third among Deacon runners and 45th overall with a time of 25:08.6.

Sophomore Garret Drogosch was the fourth Wake Forest runner to finish, crossing the line in 25:34.5, and Nate Guthals followed directly behind in 25:36.7.

Senior Marcus Dillon returned to racing action for just his second meet of the season, and first since the opening meet on Sept. 3. Dillon posted a final time of 25:43.8 to finish sixth on the Deacon squad.

Tom Finneran finished in 25:52.2 and Paul Loeser in 26:12.0 to round out the Demon Deacon scoring totals.

Both cross country teams will take next weekend off before returning to action on November 13 at the NCAA Southeast Regionals in Louisville, Ky.
