L.D. Williams Selected in Second Round of NBDL Draft

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Former Wake Forest guard L.D. Williams was selected in the second round of the NBA Development League Draft on Monday evening. Williams was taken with the 12th pick of the second round (28th overall) by the Springfield Armor.
The 6-4, 210-pound Williams was a four-year starter for the Demon Deacons from 2007-10. One of the top defenders in school history, the Yadkinville, N.C. native became the first Wake Forest player to earn multiple ACC All-Defensive Team awards, earning the honor in 2009 and 2010.
Williams ranks fifth all-time at Wake Forest with 118 career starts. He is also 11th in school history with 136 career steals. For his career, Williams averaged 8.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
As a senior in 2009-10, Williams was fourth on the team in scoring with 8.7 points per game and third in rebounding with 5.6 boards per contest. Williams was a three-year captain and surpassed the 1,000 career points plateau in his final collegiate game.
The Armor are based in Springfield, Mass., and serve as a developmental team for the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.
