Team Records and Series Notes:
- Wake Forest improves to 2-2 on the season, while Elon is now 1-2 on the campaign.
- The Deacs now hold a 37-6 lead in the series against the Phoenix and have won the last 25 games against Elon.
- Wake Forest has won 17 of its last 22 games against in-state foes and now has a 424-473 record against teams from the state of North Carolina.
- Wake Forest returns home on Monday to host a consolation pod in the 2010 NIT Season Tipoff. The Deacs will face Winthrop at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Joel Coliseum. The game will be available on the Wake Forest Sports Network from IMG College.
Wake Forest Team Notes:
- Key Run: Trailing 20-12 with 10:33 left in the first half, Wake Forest closed the half on a 25-8 run to take a 37-28 lead into the locker room. The Deacs shot 9-of-16 from the floor during the run.
- Key Stat: Wake Forest had its best shooting night of the young season. The Deacs finished the game 34-of-62 from the field (54.8 percent), while making 8-of-14 (57.1 percent) from beyond the arc.
- Wake Forest dominated the battle of the boards, finishing the game with a 48-26 advantage on the glass. The 48 rebounds were a season high for Wake.
- Wake Forest started freshmen Carson Desrosiers, Travis McKie and J.T. Terrell in tonight's game. It marked the first time since March 9, 2007 at Virginia Tech that the Demon Deacons started three freshmen in a game.
- Wake Forest trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half. The 12-point deficit marks the largest deficit overcome for victory for Wake Forest since overcoming a 17-point deficit at Miami on January 6, 2007.
- The Demon Deacons placed five players in double figures, marking the first time five Wake Forest players had scored 10-plus point in a game since December 13, 2009, also against Elon.
Wake Forest Individual Notes:
- Freshman forward Travis McKie recorded the first double-double of his collegiate career, finishing with a season-high 22 points and 15 rebounds. McKie shot 9-of-13 from the field in the game and made 2-of-3 from three-point range.
- McKie scored in double figures for the fourth-straight game to open his collegiate career, becoming the first Wake Forest player to chart double-digit points in his first four games since Rodney Rogers opened the 1990-91 season with 11 straight double-figure point performances.
- McKie's 15 rebounds were the most for a freshman since Niki Arinze pulled down 15 boards against Missouri in 1998.
- McKie also added two blocks, two steals and one assist in the win.
- Senior guard Gary Clark totaled a career-high 17 points in the victory, to go along with three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
- Clark recorded his first double-digit point game of the season and fourth of his career.
- Clark also tied a career-high with six made field goals and three made three-point field goals.
- Sophomore forward Ari Stewart scored in double figures for the third time this season, pouring in 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three-point land.
- Stewart just missed a double-double, snatching nine rebounds, including a team-high tying four on the offensive glass.
- Stewart has now scored in double figures 13 times in his collegiate career.
- Junior center Ty Walker turned in the first double-digit point game of his career, scoring a career-high 12 points in the victory on 4-of-5 shooting.
- The four field goals made and four free throws made marked a new career high for Walker.
- Walker also tied a career high with eight rebounds, while also contributing an assist, block and steal.
- Sophomore guard C.J. Harris was the fifth Demon Deacon to score in double figures, finishing the game with 11 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the floor and 3-of-3 shooting from the charity stripe.
- Harris has now scored in double figures in three straight games and 18 times in his collegiate career.
- Harris dished out a career-high eight assists, while also grabbing eight rebounds.
- Freshman center Carson Desrosiers made the first start of his collegiate career, scoring four points, grabbing three rebounds and blocking a shot in 13 minutes of action.
