
Bedford Finishes 30th at Western Refining All-American Classic

EL-PASO, Texas - Wake Forest All-American Lee Bedford carded a final round 76 to finish 30th at the 36th Western Refining All-American Golf Classic at the El-Paso Country Club on Tuesday.
Bedford shot rounds of 71-74 on Monday and came into the final round tied for 24th. He opened the day with a bogey at No. 10, his first of the day, and then rebounded with eight-straight pars to go out in 1-over 36. But he would make four more bogeys on the second nine to finish with a 5-over 76.
San Diego's Alex Ching rebounded from his last place finish last year to win the event this year. He carded rounds of 67-67-67 to win by three shots over Georgia Tech's JT Griffin and Claremont Mudd Scripps Tain Lee. Ching became the first player in tournament history to finish last in the event in the previous year and win the event the next year.
Bedford and the Deacs will be off for the holiday season and return to action at the Jacksonville Invitational on Feb. 1-2. The tournament is being played at the TPC of Sawgrass Stadium Course.
