Team Records and Series Notes:

  • Wake Forest improves to 3-3 on the season, while Marist is now 0-5 on the year.
  • Tonight's game was the first-ever meeting between the Demon Deacons and Red Foxes. Wake Forest is now 13-6 all-time against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foes.
  • With the win, Wake Forest improves to 9-3 when playing in the NIT Season Tipoff.
  • Wake Forest returns to action a week from tonight, hosting Iowa in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tip off at the Joel Coliseum is slated for 7 p.m. (ET) and the game will be available on ESPNU (television) and the Wake Forest Sports Network from IMG College.

Wake Forest Team Notes:

  • Key Run: Trailing 24-22 with 7:40 left in the first half, Wake Forest closed the opening stanza on a 19-5 run to take a 41-29 into the locker room. The Deacs added on to their lead with an 8-1 run to open the second half to stretch the lead to 19 points.
  • Key Stat: Wake Forest took good care of the ball in the contest, committing a season-low nine turnovers. In contrast, the Deacs forced 15 Marist turnovers.
  • Wake Forest finished the game shooting 34-of-44 (77.3 percent) from the free throw line. The Deacs set new season highs in both free throws made and attempted.
  • Marist held a 47-41 advantage on the backboard. The Demon Deacons got their first win of the season when getting outrebounded.
  • Wake Forest shot 9-of-20 (45.0 percent) from beyond the arc, tying a season high for three pointer's made. Overall, the Deacs were 19-of-54 (35.2 percent) from the field.

Wake Forest Individual Notes:

Ty Walker

  • Junior center Ty Walker set a new Wake Forest record with 11 blocks, breaking the single-game record of 10 blocks set by Tim Duncan on January 13, 1996, against Maryland.
  • Walker also added three points and five rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

Travis McKie

  • Freshman forward Travis McKie reached double figures for the sixth straight game to open his collegiate career, scoring 16 points. McKie got 10 of his points at the free throw line, making 10-of-13 attempts at the foul line.
  • McKie also notched his second double-double of the season, grabbing 11 rebounds.

JT Terrell

  • Freshman guard J.T. Terrell tied McKie for the team high in points, also adding 16 points for his third double-figure point game of the season.
  • Terrell had a season-high three steals, while also dishing four assists and grabbing three rebounds.

Ari Stewart

  • Sophomore forward Ari Stewart tallied 14 points in the win for his fifth double-figure point game of the season and fourth in a row.
  • Stewart brought down five rebounds and also had one steal.

Gary Clark

  • Senior guard Gary Clark scored 12 points for his third-consecutive double-figure point game. Clark was a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line and 2-of-3 from behind the three-point line.
  • Clark had three assists and four rebounds in 27 minutes of action.

C.J. Harris

  • Sophomore guard C.J. Harris was a perfect 8-for-8 at the foul line, scoring 11 points for his fourth 10-plus point performance of the year.
  • Harris had a team-high five assists, while also recording two steals.

Aaron Ingle

  • Junior guard Aaron Ingle scored his first career points in the game, scoring two points in five minutes.
