WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior Jonathan Wolff has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.
The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the playing field as a Demon Deacon.
Wolff has been one of the most consistent performers in the Deacon lineup this spring, and his 16-6 dual-match singles record is second-best on the team. Last weekend, Wolff won a key three-set match at No. 4 singles to help lead Wake Forest to a 4-3 upset of North Carolina in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tennis Championships. The win propelled him into the national singles rankings for the second time this season.
The Sarasota, Fla. native has been just as impressive in the classroom. He made the Dean's List in 2009 and was also named to the 2009 Academic All-ACC Tennis Team. Wolff is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, an organization that raises money to help underprivileged children. He is majoring in psychology.
