WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - A total of 21 former Wake Forest men's soccer players are currently playing professionally. Here's an update on how their seasons are going.
Deacs in the MLS
Midfielder Corben Bone has played in one game this season for the Chicago Fire and attempted one shot in his 39 minutes of action.
Midfielder Brian Carroll has started all 11 games this season for the Columbus Crew and attempted one shot. Carroll has helped the Crew to a 6-2-3 record, which currently leads the Eastern Conference.
Midfielder Sam Cronin was recently traded from Toronto FC to the San Jose Earthquakes. Cronin played in six games, including four starts, with Toronto FC this season and had one assist.
Midfielder Austin da Luz has been injured for most of the 2010 season and has yet to play in an MLS match for the New York Red Bulls.
Goalkeeper Will Hesmer has started all 11 games in goal this season for the Columbus Crew. Hesmer has made 37 saves and allowed 11 goals on the season, while posting a 6-2-3 record, including four clean sheets. Hesmer has helped the Crew to first place in the Eastern Conference.
Midfielder Michael Lahoud has played in eight games, including seven starts, for Chivas USA. Lahoud has two assists on the season and has attempted two shots for Chivas.
Defender Ike Opara has seen time in six games, including five starts, for the San Jose Earthquakes. Opara has scored two goals on the year, including one game-winner.
Defender Pat Phelan has played in all 12 games this season for the New England Revolution, with 11 starting appearances. Phelan has one assist and has helped the Revolution to two shutouts on the year.
Defender James Riley has played in 12 games, all starts, for the Seattle Sounders. Riley has one assist on the year for the Sounders and has contributed to four shutouts.
Forward Zack Schilawski has played in all 12 games this season for the New England Revolution, including nine starts. Schilawski leads the club with five goals, including two game-winning goals.
Forward Scott Sealy has played in six games, including one start, for the San Jose Earthquakes. Sealy has added one assist and attempted one shot for the Earthquakes.
Midfielder Wells Thompson has appeared in 11 games this season for the Colorado Rapids, with five starts. Thompson has attempted six shots, with three of his attempts being on frame.
Deacs Overseas
Forward Cody Arnoux appeared in seven games, including two starts, with Everton FC's reserve team. Arnoux scored two goals for Everton.
Defender Michael Parkhurst is currently player for FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark. Parkhurst played in 22 games last season for Nordsjaelland.
Forward Marcus Tracy is currently playing for Aalborg in Denmark. Tracy played in 12 games last season for Aalborg, scoring one goal.
Forward Jeremiah White signed with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia in January 2010. White recently went on trial with the Chicago Fire of the MLS.
Deacs in the USL
Goalkeeper Brian Edwards has played in one game this season with the Charlotte Eagles, allowing three goals and making five saves.
Midfielder Jamie Franks has played in 11 games with the Rochester Rhinos and has one assist on the year in his 809 minutes of action.
Defender Stephen Keel has played in eight games, including seven starts, this season for the Portland Timbers. Keel has attempted three shots on the year.
Midfielder Justin Moose has played in 10 games on the year for the Vancouver Whitecaps. Moose has helped the Whitecaps to a 5-2-5 record and first place in the NASL Conference of USL-1.
Defender Julian Valentin has started 12 games this season for FC Tampa Bay. The captain of FC Tampa Bay, Valentin has scored a goal and attempted six shots in his 1,080 minutes of play.
