WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After playing its last four games away from the friendly confines of the Joel Coliseum, Wake Forest returns home to host longtime rival Richmond in a Saturday afternoon matinee. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem.
How to Catch the Game
Saturday's game will be televised on ESPN3.com. Rob Jones (play-by-play) and Brevin Knight (color) will call the action.
The game can also be heard on the Wake Forest IMG College Sports Network and online at WakeForestSports.com. Stan Cotten (play-by-play) and Mark Freidinger (color) have the call.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest (5-2) is coming off a 55-53 win at Nebraska in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Wednesday at the Devaney Center in Lincoln. C.J. Harris hit the game-winning layup with 3.4 seconds left to give the Deacons their first true road win since Feb. 6, 2010, at Virginia.
Carson Desrosiers had a breakout performance with career-highs of 13 points and 12 rebounds for his first double-double. Desrosiers also hit a pair of 3-pointers in the second half and added two blocks.
Chase Fischer tied his season-high with 13 points, as the freshman went 5-for-7 from the field which included a 3-for-5 mark from 3-point range.
Meet the Spiders
Richmond (5-2) is coming off a 92-61 win at rival William & Mary on Wednesday in Williamsburg. The Spiders put five players in double figures scoring, led by Kendall Anthony's 17 points.
Anthony, a freshman guard, leads the Spiders with 14.5 points per game.Darien Brothers follows with 11.3 points per game, while Derrick Williams is Richmond's top rebounder with 5.6 boards per contest.
Series History
Wake Forest holds a 38-10 advantage in the all-time series with Richmond. The Spiders' 90-74 win in Richmond last season snapped a 17-game losing streak to the Deacons, dating back to the 1990-91 season.
Wake Forest is a perfect 10-0 against Richmond in games played at the Joel Coliseum. The last home loss the Deacons suffered to the Spiders came in 1988-89 at the Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. That game also marked the last time the Deacons lost to an A-10 member at home.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will hit the road but not travel far for a contest at Triad-rival High Point on Wednesday, Dec. 7. HPU's 1,750-seat Millis Center will be the smallest venue Wake Forest has played in since the 1950's.
Wake Forest is 12-1 all-time against High Point, including a 79-63 win in Winston-Salem last season. The Deacons' only loss to the Panthers is a 19-13 setback in 1934-35.
