Wake Forest Starts Three-Game Homestand Facing Queens

The Demon Deacons host their final three non-conference games at LJVM Coliseum beginning with the Royals.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's basketball's final three non-conference games of the 2025-26 season will be played at LJVM Coliseum, beginning with a Sunday evening tilt against Queens. 

The first-ever matchup between the Demon Deacons and Royals will tip at 5 p.m. and be streamed on ACC Network Extra as part of a double header with the women's program.

Last Time Out
Behind an excellent shooting night from sophomore guard Juke Harris, the Deacs defeated West Virginia 75-66 at the Charleston Coliseum last Saturday. 

The Salisbury, N.C., native led the Demon Deacons with 28 points while hitting seven shots from beyond the arc, which is tied for the third-most in the Steve Forbes era. Harris also added four rebounds against the Mountaineers.

Senior forward Tre'Von Spillers added 16 points while shooting 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) from the field. The Charleston, S.C., native also recorded four rebounds, a team-high three blocks, and an assist across 35 minutes of action.

Junior guard Myles Colvin made his first start for the Deacs, finishing the game with eight points, a team-high seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Meanwhile, senior guard Nate Calmese matched his season-high with nine assists to go along with four points and four steals.

Overall, Wake Forest shot 29-of-57 (50.9 percent) from the floor, including 10-of-25 from three. In the second half alone, the Deacs went 15-of-28 (53.6 percent) and 6-of-13 (46.2 percent) from three-point range.

Defensively, the Demon Deacons forced 17 turnovers and recorded 11 steals, which resulted in 25 points on the offensive end.

Wake Forest men's basketball has built one of college basketball's premier home court advantages over the last five seasons, as the Demon Deacons have collected a 66-11 at LJVM Coliseum since 2021—the fifth-most home wins nationally over that period.

Sophomore guard Juke Harris has continued his elite play to begin the season, as the Salisbury, N.C., native leads the Demon Deacons in both scoring and rebounding. This continued in last Saturday's win against West Virginia, as Harris scored 28 points including a career-high seven threes. 

Harris ranks third in the ACC in scoring average (20.7 points per game), fifth in free throws made (53), sixth in field goals made (64) and sixth in three pointers made (26). Additionally, he is one of just seven players nationally averaging more than 20 points and six rebounds per game while shooting 51 percent from the field.

The Matchup 
Queens enters Sunday's matchup with a 5-5 record and winners of two-straight following a 24-point victory over South Carolina State on Friday evening. A balanced scoring attack features four double-digit scorers led by Nasir Mann's 15.9 points per game. 

The Royals were picked to win the Atlantic Sun in the preseason coaches poll as Chris Ashby was one of two unanimous preseason All-ASUN Team selections.
