Q: When did you first start playing basketball?
A: The first time I played basketball was a couple of days after I started walking well. That's when my mom first put a ball in my hands. I got a little Fisher-Price goal when I was small, and all I used to do was dunk.
Q: When did you first realize you were "good" at basketball?
A: I guess when I started playing Division-1 AAU, and I started getting looks from a couple of colleges. That's when I first started taking it seriously.
Q: What is the one area of your game that you have had to work the hardest on to improve?
A: Defense. Being able to lock my defender down.
Q: What is the one area of your game that has just seemed to come naturally?
A: Shooting. Being able to score.
Q: What is the best memory of your high school basketball career?
A: My best memory would be freshman year when we (Cummings
H.S. in Burlington) won the state championship in 2006.
Q: What is the best memory of your AAU basketball career?
A: Playing with John Wall and Ryan Kelly. The year we had that team was my favorite year.
Q: What coach or mentor has had the most influence on your basketball career?
A: My mom, my uncles and really my whole family. My high school coaches from Cummings and West Charlotte. There are a lot to name.
Q: What were you looking for in a college when you were being recruited?
A: What I was looking for in a school was the best decision for me. Not something that was too far from home, but just comfortable. A good coach, good players, a nice team and a good environment with a nice education.
