
Deacons Shut Down Boston College 6-1

WEYMOUTH, Mass. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team earned a victory in its penultimate match of the season in a dominating 6-1 decision on the road at Boston College.
The 34th-ranked Deacs took the doubles point and got wins at the bottom five singles positions to improve to 11-10 (4-6 ACC). The Eagles fall to 7-16 (0-10 ACC).
With David Hopkins getting a day off, the Deacs mixed up their doubles lineup. At the No. 1 spot, Iain Atkinson and Danny Kreyman edged Akash Muppidi/Billy Grokenberger 9-8 (3). Tripper Carleton and Adam Lee got Wake's other win at the No. 2 spot, taking down Michael McGinnis and Alex Skinner 8-6.
In singles, No. 105 Iain Atkinson picked up his team-leading 14th win of the spring, topping Erik Kreutzer 6-2, 6-2. At the No. 2 spot, Tripper Carleton posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Skinner.
Danny Kreyman cruised past Jonathan Raude 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 singles, and Adam Lee notched a dominating 6-3, 6-0 victory over Jonathan Schroeder at No. 5. Zach Leslie rounded out the Demon Deacon success at the No. 6 spot, defeating Grokenberger 6-3, 7-5.
The Demon Deacons will close out the regular season Sunday with a crucial match against No. 48 Maryland. Next Thursday Wake Forest will open play at the 2011 ACC Championships at Cary Tennis Park.
