CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Danny Kreyman took second place in the White Singles flight, and David Hopkins placed fifth in the Blue Singles draw, as the Wake Forest men's tennis team completed play at the UVA Ranked + 1 Invitational on Sunday.
Kreyman, who had defeated Virginia Tech's Patrick Daciek, Radford's No. 90 Stijn Meuleman and Illinois' Bruno Abdelnour to reach the White Singles title match, fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 to Vlad Stefan of Maryland in the championship.
Hopkins ended his tournament on a high note, topping Virginia's Steven Rooda 1-6, 6-1, 1-0 (8) in the fifth-place match of the Blue Singles draw.
Wake Forest's doubles team of Danny Kreyman and Adam Lee also ended their tournament with a victory, topping Louisville's Robert Hall and Michael Lippens in the Orange Doubles consolation final.
The Demon Deacons will have a few weeks off before their next fall tournament, the ITA Carolina Regional which will be held from Oct. 13-17 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
