WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team will enter the 2012 dual match season ranked No. 41, as announced by the ITA Tuesday. Junior Danny Kreyman was the Deacons' lone representative in the individual rankings, earning a No. 115 spot on the singles charts.
First-year head coach Tony Bresky will lead the Demon Deacons into dual match play for the first time on Jan. 15 when they host Charlotte (11 a.m.) and Furman (4 p.m.) in a doubleheader. The Deacs are coming off of a 2011 season that saw them go 14-12 (5-6 ACC) and make their 11th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, defeating VCU in the first round before falling on the road in a close match against top-seeded Virginia.
Kreyman, who last year led the team with 27 singles wins, is expected to again play a major role in this year's squad. The Long Beach, N.Y. native earned his national singles ranking by notching a 13-4 record in the fall, including three wins over nationally ranked opponents. He reached the finals of his flight at the UVA Ranked Plus One Invitational and the Crimson Tide Fall Championships.
