WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will open its 59th season of play in the Atlantic Coast Conference when the Demon Deacons host the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday in Winston-Salem. Tip-off is scheduled for noon at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum.
How to Catch the Game
Saturday's game will be televised on the ACC Network. Mike Hogewood (play-by-play) and Dan Bonner (color) will call the action.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest (9-5, 0-0 ACC) is coming off a 56-52 loss to Wofford on Monday in Winston-Salem. The Deacons were without leading scorer C.J. Harris, who sat out after suffering a groin injury late in the Yale game on Dec. 29.
Travis McKie tied his career-high with 25 points, but the Deacons could not complete a late comeback after trying to rally back from 13 down in the first half. Wake Forest was able to cut the deficit to two on a Tony Chennault layup with four seconds left, but Wofford hit two free throws to seal the win.
Ty Walker had a productive night off the bench, turning in career-highs of 12 rebounds and three assists to go along with six points on 3-of-3 shooting.
Meet the Hokies
Virginia Tech (11-3, 0-0 ACC) is coming off 67-61 win at Oklahoma State on Saturday, Dec. 31, in Stillwater. The Hokies scored the final six points of the game while holding the Cowboys scoreless over the final two minutes.
Senior guard Dorenzo Hudson scored his 1,000th career point in the game. Hudson is second on the team in scoring this season with 11.8 points per game. Junior guard Erick Green leads the Hokies with 15.5 ppg.
Virginia Tech's Green and Wake Forest's Harris currently hold the ACC's longest active double-figure scoring streaks at 16 and 13 respectively.
Series History
Virginia Tech leads the all-time series with Wake Forest, 28-26. The series dates back to the 1911-12 season when Wake Forest dropped a pair of decisions to the Hokies.
Wake Forest is 2-3 all-time against Virginia Tech at the Joel Coliseum.
The Hokies have won five straight and eight of the past 10 meetings since joining the ACC in 2004-05.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will play at Maryland on Wednesday, Jan. 11, to begin a stretch of playing four road games in a span of 18 days in January. The Terps are 10-3 entering Sunday's ACC opener at NC State.
Following the Maryland game, Wake Forest will host rival NC State on Saturday, Jan. 14.
