Wake Forest Heads to New Mexico State to Begin 2012
The Wake Forest baseball team will head to Las Cruces, N.M. to play at New Mexico State to begin the 2012 campaign.
The Demon Deacons and the Aggies will play one game on Friday (6:05 pm), two on Saturday (4:05 p.m.) and one on Sunday (4:05 p.m.). All times are Eastern.

Last Season
Wake Forest ended the 2011 season with a 25-31 overall record, including a 10-16 record in non-conference action.
The Demon Deacons opened up last year on the road, as well, dropping three games to LSU at Alex Box Stadium.
After finishing the ACC schedule with a 15-15 record, Wake Forest earned the No. 8 seed in the 2011 ACC Baseball Championship, marking the team's first appearance in the competition since 2008.
Today's Opponent
New Mexico State compiled a 34-24 record during the 2011 season and had a 9-15 record in the WAC.
The Aggies started off strong to begin last year, winning their first nine contests of the season. Seven of the nine game were played at Presley Askew Field.
Series History
Wake Forest and New Mexico State will be playing for the first time in school history.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will return to Winston-Salem to play its next 16 games at Gene Hooks Field at Wake Forest Baseball Park.
The Deacs will open up the home schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 22, against local-rival High Point.
WFU will then host UMBC, Cincinnati and Georgetown in at the Wake Forest Invitational presented by Hilton Garden Inn (Winston-Salem/Hanes Mall) on Feb. 24-26.
