Cross Country Teams Receive DI All-Academic Status

NEW ORLEANS - The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams have each earned 2011 Division I All-Academic Cross Country status, as announced earlier this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the squad must have had a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
On the men's side, Wake Forest compiled an overall team GPA of 3.13, while the women's squad earned a team GPA of 3.09.
Wisconsin was named the Scholar Team of the Year on the men's side, and Georgetown received the honor on the women's side.
