WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Senior closer Michael Dimock has been named one of the College Baseball 360 Primetime Performers for the fourth week of the college baseball season.
Dimock appeared in four of Wake Forest's five games last week, recording three saves in the process and helping the Demon Deacons extend their winning streak to 13 consecutive games.
He pitched 5.2 innings, striking out 11 batters, surrendering just two hits and allowing one run.
In the ACC opening series against Maryland, Dimock closed all three games and earned two saves. On Friday, he entered the game with two men on and a five-run lead in the ninth inning. He proceeded to strike out both batters he faced to preserve the win. Dimock then entered in the top of the eighth inning with a slim 8-6 lead on Saturday to earn a six-out save, striking out four batters.
In the series sweeping win on Sunday, Dimock entered the game with a 4-2 lead and two men on base to face Tomo Delp who had already battled to a full count. Delp fouled off his first pitch but struck out swinging to end the threat. Dimock proceeded to close out the game in the ninth, striking out another batter along the way.
Earlier in the week, he picked up a save in a 3-0 win against Valparaiso, throwing 1.2 innings and striking out 3. Dimock is now tied for the ACC lead in saves with six on the year.
