
Anthony Fields Named to All-ACC Academic Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman guard Anthony Fields has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Friday.
Fields, who has yet to declare a major in his first year on campus, is one of 12 student-athletes on the team. He is one of four freshman named to the team.
Fields has appeared in 22 games off the bench for the Demon Deacons in 2011-12. He is averaging 1.1 points and 1.1 assists in 9.5 minutes per game.
Fields is the eighth freshman in Wake Forest history to be named to the All-ACC Academic Team since the award's inception in 1963. He joins Jerry Montgomery (1968-69), Tom Wise (1987-88), Broderick Hicks (1998-99), Chris Paul (2003-04), Kyle Visser (2003-04), Gary Clark (2007-08) and C.J. Harris (2009-10) on the list.
Overall, Fields is the 20th Demon Deacon to be named to the team.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
