King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week - Tim Cooney

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior left-handed pitcher Tim Cooney has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.
Cooney has been sensational on the mound already this season, posting a 2-1 record and a 1.31 ERA. Opponents are hitting just .145 off of him this season, while he has struck out 30 and walked only seven batters.
On February 27, Cooney was named ACC Pitcher of the Week after helping Wake Forest shut out Cincinnati 7-0. In that outing, Cooney went 7.0 innings, struck out 10 batters and allowed just three hits.
The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the field as a Demon Deacon.
