Wake Forest Concludes Competition at Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN, Ala. - Sophomore Alexander Rose placed second overall in the 3,000 meters with a personal-best time of 8:15.10 to lead the Wake Forest track & field teams Saturday afternoon at the Tiger Track Classic, hosted by Auburn University.
Freshman Daniel Harrison raced in both the 200 meters and 400 meters on the afternoon for the Deacs, while junior Anthony Marois finished fifth in the 1500 meters with a team-leading time of 3:51.01.
The Deacs will return to the track next Friday afternoon when they compete in the Kent Taylor Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina.
Following is an event-by-event breakdown of action from Day Two at the Tiger Track Classic.
110 Meter Hurdles
Sophomore Malcolm Nunley placed 35th overall in a time of 15.28.
100 Meters
Sophomore Michael Mastanduno raced to a 51st place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 11.35.
200 Meters
Daniel Harrison was just .05 seconds away from eclipsing his personal best time in the 200 meters, finishing 47th overall in 22.20. Michael Mastanduno raced to a personal-best time of 22.79 en route to finishing 64th.
400 Meters
Daniel Harrison was the only Deacon competing in the 400 meters, as he finished 19th in 48.97.
800 Meters
A trio of runners paced the Deacs in the 800 meters, led by junior Michael McEnany's fourth-place finish in a personal-best time of 1:52.86. Kyle Eager followed in sixth place with a time of 1:54.25, and Alexander Rose rounded out the action with a 10th-place finish in 1:55.46.
1500 Meters
Anthony Marois finished fifth overall in 3:51.01 to lead Wake Forest in the 1500 meters. Tom Finneran followed in sixth place with a time of 3:52.79, and Nate Guthals finished ninth overall in 3:55.32.
Senior Paul Loeser rounded out action in the 1500 meters with a 16th-place finish in a time of 4:01.03.
3,000 Meters
Alexander Rose turned in a personal-best time of 8:15.10 in the 3,000 meters en route to a second-place overall finish, and junior Garret Drogosch placed eighth in the event in a personal-best time of 8:24.8.
A pair of freshmen made their debut in the event, as Connor Crowley placed 13th overall in 8:37.51, and Brian O'Toole crossed the finish line in 8:45.17 to place 23rd.
3,000 Meter Steeplechase
Junior Jake Graham finished eighth overall in the steeplechase with a time of 9:36.45.
Discus Throw
Senior Michael Wooten finished 16th overall in the discus with a toss of 148-3 (45.18 meters).
Long Jump
Michael Mastanduno placed 19th in the long jump with a mark of 21-10.25 (6.66 meters), and senior decathlete Alex Hill finished in 25th place with a jump of 21-3.25 (6.48 meters).
