GREENSBORO, N.C. - Three Wake Forest women's golfers were named to the Academic All-ACC Team as announced by the conference office on Monday. Sophomore Olafia Kristinsdottir earned the award for the second-straight season while freshman Marissa Dodd and junior Greta Lange each took home the award for the first time.
Kristinsdottir had a tremendous sophomore campaign. She played in every event for the Deacs and finished with the second-best scoring average on the team at 75.1. That was four strokes lower than her average as a freshman last season. Kristinsdottir also had five rounds at par or better and posted three top-10 finishes. Her best finish came at the ACC Championships when she fired a final round 68 to finish in a tie for second.
Kristinsdottir is just the fifth Demon Deacon to earn Academic All-ACC honors multiple times. The award began in 2006.
Dodd finished tied for third on the squad this season with a 76.9 scoring average. Her lone top-10 finish came at the Bryan National Collegiate where she finished tied for ninth after rounds of 73-76-72. Dodd also recorded a hole-in-one in just her second round as a collegiate.
Lange, who transferred last summer from Shorter College, finished the year with a 79.3 scoring average. She played in all 10 events and posted a season-best finish at the ACC Championship where a final round 74 vaulted her into a tie for 31st.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
