TULSA, Okla. - Wake Forest's Romain Bogaerts won his first round match at the St. Francis Health System All-American Championships in Tulsa Thursday but was knocked out in the second round, ending the tournament for him and teammate Adam Lee.
Bogaerts, the tournament's No. 4 seed, entered the All-American Championships with limited practice after being sidelined with a wrist injury. It didn't seem to play a factor in his first round match as he quickly dispatched No. 95 Danil Proskura of Alabama 6-3, 6-2, but perhaps caused issues in the second round as he was upset by No. 67 Harrison Adams of Texas A&M 6-4, 6-2.
No. 86 Lee, who had won his way through the qualifying draw, dropped his opening round match to No. 44 Dane Webb of Oklahoma.
The week isn't over for the men's tennis team though as Nolan Bauer, Jaya Billa, Nicky Kunz and Maksim Kan will travel to Charlottesville, Va. to represent the Deacons in the UVA Classic.
