Douglas led all scorers at the break with nine points. After a slow start, the Deacs shot 33 percent in the opening half while holding Arizona to just 21 percent.
The game stayed close at the onset of the second half before Arizona got some momentum from the crowd and pulled within one at 40-39 with just under 15 minutes to play. A three-pointer by Douglas then sparked a 15-1 run that gave the Deacons an insurmountable 55-40 lead with 8:58 to play.
