WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will remain away from home for the fifth straight game when it travels to Cullowhee, N.C., to face Western Carolina on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest began the year 3-1 after sweeping Alcorn State and splitting the series with ULM.
The Demon Deacons outscored their opponents 31-6 in their three wins.
On offense, Evan Stephens was one of three players to record five hits, going 5-for-9 for a team-best .556 average. His on base percentage was .667.
Wake Forest pitchers combined for a 2.83 ERA in 35.0 innings and recorded 39 strikeouts to just eight walks. Austin Stadler recorded nine strikeouts in the season opener.
This Week's Opponent
Western Carolina went 2-1 in their opening weekend at home against Washington State.
The Catamounts defeated the Cougars 8-5 and 15-10 to begin the series before falling in the finale 4-1.
WCU has four players hitting .300 or better through three games, including Jacob Hyde (.364), Aaron Attaway (.357), Julian Ridings (.333) and Bradley Strong (.300).
Series History
In a brief history between the two teams, Wake Forest leads the all-time series with Western Carolina 4-3.
The first meeting between the teams came in 1971.
The Deacs and the Catamounts last met on Feb. 22, 2011, as Pat Blair drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Wake Forest the win at home.
Next Up
Wake Forest will play at home for the first time this season, as the Deacs kick off an eight-game homestand this weekend.
The Demon Deacons will host Youngstown State and West Virginia on Friday-Sunday and will play each team twice during that time.
