BATON ROUGE, La - Wake Forest sophomore Marissa Dodd fired a second round 72 and moved into the top-15 at the LSU Golf Classic.
Dodd made four birdies and 11 pars in her round on Saturday at the University Club and moved from a tie for 21st to start the day into a tie for 13th. Coupled with her opening round 76, she is 4-over par and just four shots back with a round to play.
As a team, the Deacons shot their lowest round of the spring, a 14-over 302 and are in 11th place at 42-over par. Arkansas continues to lead the team race as the Razorbacks lead host LSU and Tulane by 10 shots at 14-over.
"We're headed in the right direction," said Wake Forest head coach Dianne Dailey. "This is a tough golf course and really penalizes you for a bad shot. I thought our course management wasn't great yesterday but we put ourselves in better positions today."
Fellow sophomore Allison Emrey made a total of 13 pars in her round and finished with a 3-over 75. She is 11-over for the tournament and tied for 38th. Junior Olafia Kristinsdottir is two shots behind Emrey at 13-over after posting a second round 78.
Freshman Mariana Sims shook-off a quadruple-bogey eight on her third hole of the day and played 1-over par golf the rest of the way. Sims finished with a 77 and is 14-over par for the event. Senior Greta Lange made an eagle in her round on Saturday but wound-up with an 87.
Sophomore Emily Wright, who is playing as an individual this weekend, has shot rounds of 80-79 and is tied for 51st at 15-over par.
In the individual race, there are four players tied for the lead at even-par and four more players tied for fifth at 1-over par.
The final round will begin Sunday morning with a 9:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. Golfstat.com will have live scoring of the final round.
