- Wake Forest will get an early start to the season with a doubleheader against Coastal Carolina (10 a.m.) and Charlotte (6 p.m.) on Saturday at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
- The match against the Chanticleers will go in the books as one of the first dual matches in the country this season.
- Wake Forest returns four lineup regulars from last year and welcomes seven newcomers, including 2013 ITA Rookie of the Year Romain Bogaerts, who transferred from Mississippi State.
Wake Forest Ranked #19 in Preseason Poll
- Wake Forest is ranked No. 19 in the ITA Preseason Rankings, conducted via a poll of Division I head coaches.
- It is the highest that the Demon Deacons have been ranked in the preseason since 2010.
- Wake Forest finished last year at No. 19 in the ITA Rankings after a strong performance at the end of the season that saw them reach the finals of the ACC Championship for only the second time in program history.
- The Deacs have three players in the ITA Singles Rankings: No. 20 Romain Bogaerts, No. 59 Adam Lee and No. 93 Anthony Delcore. In the doubles rankings, Lee and Pedro Dumont are ranked 30th.
Top Storylines
- Wake Forest and Charlotte are meeting for the second year in a row. The Demon Deacons defeated the 49ers 6-1 at home in 2013.
- Senior Adam Lee enters the season tied for ninth place in school history with 89 singles victories. The Auckland, New Zealand native went 7-4 in fall singles play, building on a 2012-13 season that saw him set a Wake Forest single-season record with 38 singles wins.
- Wake Forest has three new transfers on this year's team. Sophomores Romain Bogaerts and Pedro Dumont joined the Deacons from Mississippi State while junior Nicky Kunz comes from down the road at Davidson.
- Head coach Tony Bresky is the reigning ACC Coach of the Year after being voted to the award by his peers last season. Bresky led the Demon Deacons to a 20-9 record in his second year at Wake Forest.
