Deacs Continue Play with Brown and ETSU
- Wake Forest will continue dual match with another home doubleheader against Brown and ETSU.
- The match against the Bears will feature a unique format of five doubles and 10 singles matches, giving an expanded number of players on both teams a chance to play in the lineup.
- Last week the Demon Deacons played four doubles and eight singles matches against Coatal Carolina and Charlotte, sweeping both matches 9-0.
Wake Forest Ranked #19 in Preseason Poll
- Wake Forest is ranked No. 19 in the ITA Preseason Rankings, conducted via a poll of Division I head coaches.
- It is the highest that the Demon Deacons have been ranked in the preseason since 2010.
- Wake Forest finished last year at No. 19 in the ITA Rankings after a strong performance at the end of the season that saw them reach the finals of the ACC Championship for only the second time in program history.
- The Deacs have three players in the ITA Singles Rankings: No. 20 Romain Bogaerts, No. 59 Adam Lee and No. 93 Anthony Delcore. In the doubles rankings, Lee and Pedro Dumont are ranked 30th.
Top Storylines
- Wake Forest started the season strong last week, winning 23 of 24 total matches against Coastal Carolina and Charlotte. Adam Lee, Jon Ho, Aws Laaribi, Pedro Dumont and Sam Bloom all put forth 4-0 performances.
- With two singles wins last weekend, Adam Lee moved into sole possession of ninth place in program history for career singles wins. The senior from New Zealand has won 91 matches in his career.
- Freshmen Maksim Kan and Pedro Dumont as well as redshirt sophomore Jaya Billa earned the first dual match wins of their careers against Coastal Carolina.
- Wake Forest is looking to open the season 4-0 for the second year in a row. In 2013, the Demon Deacons won their first seven matches.
Next Up...
- Wake Forest will travel to Vanderbilt next weekend for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
- The Demon Deacons will open against LSU on Jan. 25 and will then face Vanderbilt or Texas on Jan. 26 for a potential berth in the ITA National Indoor Championships.
