No. 7 Demon Deacons Eye Second-Consecutive Regular Season Title Saturday Against NC State

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – With a second-straight ACC regular season title within reach, the No. 7-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team returns home Saturday evening to host Big Four rival NC State at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
First serve against the Wolfpack is set for 5 p.m., with senior day festivities honoring DK Suresh scheduled for 4:40 p.m. Following the match, Wake Forest will also celebrate its 2025 National Championship team with a post-match ceremony.
Wake Forest enters the matchup with a strong edge in the all-time series, holding a 47-12 record against NC State and winning 11 of the last 12 meetings dating back to 2017.
Under head coach Tony Bresky, the Demon Deacons have thrived in Big Four matchups, compiling a 34-20 (.623) record overall, including a 13-7 mark at home. Wake Forest has already swept Duke and North Carolina on the road this season, setting the stage for another statement opportunity Saturday.

Heading into the final weekend, the Deacs and Cavaliers sit tied atop the regular season standings. The Demon Deacons could clinch a share of the title with a win over NC State on Saturday.
In terms of seeding for the ACC tournament, Wake Forest could clinch the No. 1-seed with a victory since it holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Virginia.

Additionally, Wake Forest has taken a total of 127 conference victories since the start of the 2013 campaign, good for second during that span.
The Demon Deacons can extend their nation-leading home match winning streak to 45 with a victory tomorrow. Since 2013, Wake Forest has the most home wins (241) in the county and the second-most overall wins (382).

With one match remaining in the regular season, the Demon Deacons hold a combined 93-23 record in singles and a 57-10 mark in doubles, including 12 sweeps in its last 16 matches (eight of 12 in ACC play). Sophomore Joaquin Guilleme leads the team with an incredible 19-3 singles record, followed by Luca Pow at 17-3 with a 12-match win streak.
Freshmen Standouts
Wake Forest freshmen have accounted for 36 wins this season, led by four-time ACC Freshman of the Week Mees Rottgering (12-3) and breakthrough star Dominick Mosejczuk, who remains a perfect 12-0 in singles play.
Demon Deacon Depth
The Deacs have put together one of the deepest lineups in the sport and have proven it week after week. Wake Forest has a 72-13 combined singles record on courts three (17-3), four (17-5), five (19-2) and six (19-3). Of note, court three has not been dropped since Feb. 22 against Baylor.
Chasing History
DK Suresh and Luca Pow have played a major role in Wake Forest's success over the last three years and have been climbing up the program record books. Suresh is tied for fourth all-time in career doubles wins (94) and Pow is five wins behind him in eighth.

Last Time Out (vs. Cal)
The No. 3-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team returned to its winning ways on Sunday afternoon as it defeated No. 54 Cal, 4-2, at the Hellman Tennis Complex
With one match remaining in the regular season, the Demon Deacons remained tied with Virginia atop the ACC standings with just one loss apiece. A win over NC State on Saturday would secure at least a share of the regular season title for the second-consecutive season.
The Deacs took the opening point for the 26th time this season and for the 17th consecutive match, including all 12 in ACC play, with wins on courts one and three.
Sophomore Luca Pow paired up with sophomore Aryan Shah for just the fourth time this season with all four resulting in victories. Pow is now eighth in program history with 89 career doubles wins and is three away from being tied for sixth.
Senior DK Suresh Ekambaram and redshirt freshman Andrew Delgado, the No. 4-ranked doubles pair in the country, stayed perfect on the year following a 6-3 victory over Aney/Stepanov on court one and clinched the opening point.
With the win, Suresh is now tied for fourth in program history in career doubles wins with Steven Foreman (2007-10) at 94. Additionally, Delgado is now 15-0 overall in doubles this spring to go along with a 6-0 singles mark.
In singles, the Demon Deacons took four of six first sets and set the tone for the rest of the match. Wins on courts two, five and six secured the victory.
Sophomore Joaquin Guilleme picked up his team-leading 19th victory of the season in dominant fashion, as he downed Lenn Luemkemann in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) on court five.
Shortly after Guilleme's victory, freshman Dominick Mosejczuk stayed perfect on the year with a 6-3, 6-1 showing against Andrea Meduri on court six.
Fellow freshman Mees Rottgering closed out the match on court two with a 7-6(1), 6-3 victory over Timofey Stepanov. Of note, Wake Forest freshmen have accounted for 36 wins this season, with Mosejczuk and Rottgering leading the way with 12 apiece.
The Bresky Era
Since arriving at Wake Forest, head coach Tony Bresky has enjoyed a highly-decorated career, winning ITA National Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2025, along with garnering ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2013, 2016 and 2025.
Bresky led Wake Forest to its first-ever national title in 2018, after accumulating a 33-2 mark and most recently led one of the most dominant seasons in collegiate tennis history as the Deacs won 40 matches en route to capturing the ACC regular season title, ITA Indoor Title and NCAA Championship.
Individually, Bresky has coached two ACC Players of the Year (Noah Rubin and Melios Efstathiou), along with 40 All-ACC selections and 12 ITA Singles All-Americans.
During his tenure at Wake Forest, Bresky has amassed 396 wins. Of note, early in 2023 with a victory over No. 6 Tennessee, Bresky became the winningest coach in program history, surpassing the legendary Jim Leighton. Most recently against Texas, he reached the 400-career win mark including his 26 victories at Cornell.
