WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Veterans led the way as Wake Forest earned a 96-71 victory over Young Harris in head coach Danny Manning's debut in the team's lone exhibition inside the LJVM Coliseum on Friday night.

Devin Thomas was perfect from the field, scoring 26 points on 12-of-12 shooting, also pulling down 11 boards for a double-double to go along with four blocks.

Codi Miller-McIntyre was solid all-around, finishing with a line of 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Madison Jones added 16 points, three assists and a pair of steals.

The Demon Deacons dominated in the paint, where they out-scored the Mountain Lions 76-36.

Wake Forest never trailed, jumping out to a 21-7 lead fueled by 12 Thomas points. The Deacs maintained a double-digit lead for the duration, taking a 49-32 lead into the break.

The Mountain Lions cut the margin to 11, 63-52, six minutes into the second half. Wake Forest responded by scoring seven straight points to retake a commanding 18-point lead, and Young Harris didn't get within 15 points the remainder of the contest.

Twelve Deacons scored in the game, in which the newcomers also performed well. Freshman Cornelius Hudson chipped in 11 points and five rebounds, and Konstantinos Mitoglou recorded nine points and four boards.

Miles Overton and Aaron Rountree III dished out four assists apiece, while Overton scored six points and Rountree pulled in six rebounds and had a team-high four steals.
