Wake Forest Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik

Opening Statement...
"In the guts of the game we simply could not get a timely stop or a timely shot to go down. Obviously, in the first half we defended well. In the second half we got broken down off the dribble and did not do a very good job on the boards. You are not going to win a lot of games if you are not defending and rebounding for all 40 minutes. We turned the ball over a couple of times that were bad turnovers and it lead to run-outs for them."

On the play of Tyler Cavanaugh and Coron Williams coming off the bench...
"They are both very good shooters and found ways to get open. They did a pretty good job of knocking down shots. They were 5-for-14 on three-pointers and we will take that. They did a really good job offensively."

On the play of Florida State...
"They are a very good defensive team. Their defense keeps them in the ball game. We are best when we run but in order to run you have to get stops and you need to culminate those stops with defensive rebounds."

On what happened in the second half...
"I can't tell you what happened...and it has happened a few times. We get up in the first half- by 10, and then something happens where our energy decreases."

On the game overall...
"It's a 40 minute game. You can't do it for 36, 38, 39 minutes. We played well in the first half with our energy and effort, and then they made their run."

On coming off the bench....
"I don't want to say it [playing] made a difference. I was able to come out with the energy I had in the beginning of the year. I need to come out like that every game, because that's what we need."

Florida State Head Coach Leonard Hamilton

Opening Statements...
"Obviously Wake Forest was very well prepared at the beginning of the game. I thought that from the defensive end they were hitting on all cylinders. Their offensive game plan was to stretch the floor with Cavanaugh and he did a very good job hitting those threes early and they drove the ball to the basket. It kind of put us back on our heels. From the offensive end, I thought we were executing pretty good we had great shots, had open looks, and had some point blank layups. As of late for whatever reason, we have not gotten off to good starts even though we have good looks with some of our best shooters getting those opportunities. I was very proud of our guys for maintaining their poise and not allowing themselves to get down on themselves. We kept executing and willing away at the lead and put ourselves in striking distance at half time and I thought we came back out the second half with a lot of energy. Obviously Aaron (Thomas) was big with 14 rebounds and Ian (Miller) gave some offensive productivity whenever we needed a basket he seemed to find a way to give us a big lift. The energy our guys played with and (Boris) Bojanovsky with eight rebounds and six blocks. Those stats don't prove or really reveal the effect he had on the game. He was in there, changing some shots, and made up for some of our defense mistakes. We have not been getting that consistency from our big guys. We are still very similar to Wake Forest. Last year we had seven first year players and this year we had seven second year players and that's the way Wake Forest is too. They are loaded with talent, their guys are really coming around. They had our respect. They played so many tough games this year and played so many people close. That's what young teams like ours do. We were fortunate we had a sprint right there at the end that gave us the opportunity to win and somebody had to come away from it. We made a couple of plays at the end, got some deflections and steals that gave us some breathing room."

On coming back from their slow start...
We scored two baskets in the first ten or twelve minutes or something like that. I thought we had some really, really good looks at the basket. That's the nature of who we are right now. The same guys who missed the shots in the first half came back in the second half and made some good plays.

On the technical foul...
I can't speak to how it affected them. I felt the same way when Okaro (White) went to the bench with his second foul too. We lost him too. We lost our most experienced player as well. I don't know how it affected them. We didn't have Okaro, they didn't have their guy too so maybe it can't even things out. They kept executing. They did a nice job of moving the ball. (Coron) Williams came into the game and gave them a big lift. (Tyler) Cavanaugh was creating a lot of problems for us. They had a good game plan. The coach has done a good job with the young club. I watched the Pittsburgh game and three other films this morning. Syracuse they were right there. I watched the Duke game and the end of the half it's 26-24. I watched how well they played and they normally don't beat themselves."
