Cincinnati (1-2) put an early run in the top of the first and limited the Demon Deacons offensively behind starting pitching Matt Ring who pitched a complete game shutout with three strikeouts. Ian Happ led the Bearcats with two RBI's.

Ian Happ grounded out to the first in the first inning to put Cincinnati on the board. Wake Forest made contact with the ball in the bottom of the first, but the Bearcats turned a double play and snagged a liner from Nate Mondou to end the inning.

Cincinnati added another run in the top of the third as a run crossed after Wake Forest turned a double play. The Bearcats added a third run in the sixth and two more in the seventh as Will Drake and Happ each added RBI's.

John McCarren pitched the eighth and ninth innings for Wake Forest but did not give up any runs while relinquishing only two hits. In two career appearances, McCarren has yet to give up a run. It is the fourth straight game that the Wake Forest bullpen has not given up any runs over 19.0 innings.
