Wake Forest Tournament History:
- This will be the 26th ACC Women's Golf Championships and the Demon Deacons will have participated in all 26 events. The Deacs have won five titles (1986, 1994, 1995, 2009, 2010) and have finished runner-up 10 times.
- After each of the Demon Deacons' five victories, the Wake Forest head coach was named ACC Coach of the Year. Mary Beth McGirr took home the honor in 1986 and Dianne Dailey has earned the award in 1994, 1995, 2009 and 2010.
- Individually, Wake has had seven ACC Champions: Brenda Corrie in 1986, Stephanie Neill in 1993, Laura Philo Diaz in 1995 and Marta Prieto in 1998.
- In addition to winning the team title in 2009 and 2010, the Demon Deacons have had three of the last four individual winners: Natalie Sheary in 2009, Michelle Shin in 2010 and Cheyenne Woods in 2011.
- That is the longest stretch of winners from one school other than Duke. The Blue Devils had a stretch of four-straight individual winners from 1999-02 and then Brittany Lang and Amanda Blumenhurst teamed to win five-straight from 2004-08.
- Last season, the Deacons finished 7th as a team while Marissa Dodd and Mariana Sims each tied for 10th individually.
Wake Forest Notes:
- The Deacons finished seventh in the 16-team field at the SMU Dallas Athletic Invitational. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes because of inclement weather on the final day.
- Wake had its best finish of the season at the Bryan National Collegiate, finishing 3rd in the 18-team field.
- Freshman Sierra Sims led the BNC after two rounds and went on to finish 3rd, her best finish of the season. She opened the tournament with season-low rounds of 1-under 71.
- The Deacons fired the lowest final round (2-over 286) and finished sixth in one of the strongest fields of the year at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
- Junior Allison Emrey picked-up just the second top-10 finish of her career as she tied for ninth at the Darius Rucker. Emrey shot rounds of 73-74-70.
- Wake started the spring with a 9th place finish at the Northrop Grumman. Sierra Sims finished tied for 12th individually.
- The Deacons had back-to-back rounds at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational in which it threw out a round of 74. That was just the second time that happened in the same tournament in school history.
- Mariana Sims led the team at the Mason Rudolph Challenge as she finished tied for 18th. That was the second top-20 finish of her career.
- The Deacons opened the season with a round of 1-under 287 at the Cougar Classic. That was their first under-par round in almost two years.
- Wake finished in seventh place at the Cougar Classic.
- Junior Marissa Dodd led the team in the season-opening Cougar Classic with a 13th place finish at 1-over par.
- Dodd opened the season at the Cougar Classic with a career-low 4-under 68. That bested her previous career-low by three shots.
- Freshmen Sierra Sims and Elizabeth Doty each had solid showings in their first tournaments as Demon Deacons. Sims shot rounds of 74-71-73 to finish in a tie for 19th while Doty opened with 71-72-77 to finish tied for 30th.
