Deacs Head to Penn Relays

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Members of the Wake Forest track and field team will travel this weekend to the 120th Running of the Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Penn. hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. The meet will feature several fellow ACC teams including the University of North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Syracuse. Events will be begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday evening.
The Demon Deacons will enter one team comprised of Simon Holden, Thomas Bojanowski, Kyle Eager and Kyle Graves in the Men's 4x800m Championship of America. The event will be held on Saturday at 4:40 p.m.
Freshman Charlie Ionata will compete in the College Men's Hammer Throw Championship on Saturday at 1:45 pm. Ionata currently holds the Wake Forest school record in the hammer with a throw of 61.30m.
