Four Deacons Earn Academic All-ACC Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Four members of the Wake Forest women's golf team have been named to the Academic All-ACC Team as announced by the conference office on Friday morning.
Senior Olafia Kristinsdottir, juniors Allison Emrey and Marissa Dodd as well as redshirt freshman Elizabeth Doty all garnered the award.
Kristinsdottir is the first Demon Deacon to be named to the Academic All-ACC Team all four years. She had a 76.81 over seven events this season and 13 of her 21 rounds count towards the team score. For her career, Kristinsdottir finished with a 76.78 scoring average and represented Wake Forest in two NCAA Championships.
Dodd has now been a member of the Academic All-ACC Team in each of her first three seasons. She played in all 10 events this year and finished with a 76.48 average. Dodd had a pair of top-20 finishes and was second on the team with a total of 61 birdies made.
Emrey is a first time Academic All-ACC Team member. She enjoyed the best season of her career as she led the team with a 75.21 scoring average. That was the lowest average of her career by more than a stroke and a half. She had three top-20 finishes and all by four of her 29 rounds counted towards the team score.
After redshirting last season, Doty made an immediate impact this season. She played in eight of the 10 events and finished third on the squad with a 75.57 average. Doty had a great tournament in front of friends and family at the Northrop Grumman, posting rounds of 74-72-74 to finish in a tie for 18th in one of the strongest fields of the year.
Wake Forest was one of four schools to have four members selected to the Academic All-ACC Team. A total of 30 players were named to the squad. To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
