Wake Forest Heads to Hokie Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest track and field teams head up to Virginia Tech to take part in the Hokie Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
This will be the largest group of participants that Wake Forest has had in a meet this season as there will be 40 competitors from the men's and 33 for the women.
The Deacons will look to have another successful weekend. Multiple athletes set personal records while other earned first place finishes in their events. Sydney White led the way by setting the indoor school record in the women's pole vault at the Commodore Invitational clearing a height of 4.05m. Her height ranks second among ACC pole vaulters and ranks 11th in the NCAA.
Also John Maurins had a huge toss in the men's shot put with a distance of 17.82m. In addition, Charlie Ionata had a solid day setting a personal record of 18.80m in the weight throw.
After the Hokie Invitational, the Deacons will return to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take part in the Hilton Garden Invitational at the JDL Fast Track from January 30-31.
