WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest Tennis Complex has received top honors from Tennis Magazine this month after being named the third-best collegiate tennis facility in the country.

With 12 outdoor courts and eight indoor courts, the Wake Forest Tennis Complex replaced the Leighton Tennis Center before the 2011-12 season and has been home to the Demon Deacons ever since. Ranked only behind Baylor's Hurd Tennis Center and SMU Tennis Center in Texas, the Wake Forest Tennis Complex checked in as the best facility on the East coast with the next-best facility being Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex at No. 6.

"It's certainly an honor to be recognized as one of the top college tennis facilities in the country and the top one in the ACC," said Wake Forest women's tennis head coach Jeff Wyshner. "It's amazing that we are already that highly regarded, yet we have several improvements in the works, particularly those that will increase the permanent seating around our home match courts. The facility is a great asset for our team, but more importantly it shows the commitment to tennis here at Wake Forest."

"We are honored to have our facility ranked so highly and be recognized nationally," said Wake Forest men's tennis head coach Tony Bresky. "We are honored to have such a great facility to train and compete at to see further growth as we prepare to host the NCAA Championships in 2018."

Also home of the ATP's Winston-Salem Open, the Wake Forest Tennis Complex was previously named the host site for the 2018 NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Championhips. Prior to 2018, additions to improve seating around the site are scheduled. This summer, the permanent seating structure next to Court 1 was completed.

The final scheduled home event at the complex this fall is the men's Wake Forest Invitational from Nov. 6-8. The women's team completed its annual home tournament from Oct. 11-13 and took three titles in the event. The men's team opens the 2016 spring season at home on Jan. 16 against North Florida and East Tennessee State while the women's team is scheduled to open the 2016 season on Jan. 18 against College of Charleston and Winthrop.
