SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Wake Forest women's soccer dropped its 10th game by a one-goal margin, as Syracuse claimed a 1-0 victory at SU Soccer Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
In the 24th minute, Syracuse's (7-10-1, 3-6 ACC) Sheridan Street forced a Wake Forest (4-12-2, 1-8 ACC) turnover in the box, dribbled around the keeper and scored what proved to be the game-winner.
Seven different Demon Deacons took shots, with five putting shots on goal, but none found the back of the net.
Lindsay Preston saved five of the six shots on goal she faced for Wake Forest. Courtney Brosnan made five saves in the Syracuse shutout.
Wake Forest's road woes continued, as the Deacs finish the year winless as the visiting team. Out of Wake Forest's 12 losses, 10 have been by a one-goal margin, including four consecutive.
The Deacs close the regular season against Louisville on Oct. 31. Wake Forest will be honoring its seniors prior to the game.
