Deacs Place Two in ITA All-Americans Main Draws

ITA All-American Championships Draws

TULSA, Okla. -- Wake Forest men's tennis posted a 3-1 record on Wednesday at the Saint Francis Health Systems ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa en route to occupying two spots in each of the singles and doubles main draw.
To finish singles qualifying, Christian Seraphim topped Cristobal Rivera of Loyola Marymount 7-6 (5), 6-1 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament and move to the main draw. In qualifying doubles, Keivon Tabrizi and Jon Ho picked up two wins to advance to the doubles main draw. The duo beat Justin Butsch and Tam Trinh of LSU via walkover, then topped Tommy Bennett and Jamie Malik 7-5, 6-0. Sam Bloom and Anthony Delcore lost in qualifying semifinals to No. 9-16-seed Alp Horoz and Sam Shropshire by the score of 6-4, 6-4.
Action resumes in Tulsa on Thursday morning with Seraphim battling No. 9-16-seed Austin Smith of Georgia in the first round of the main singles draw while Romain Bogaerts makes his 2015 tournament debut against qualifier Alfredo Perez of Florida.
In doubles, Tabrizi and Ho will take on Smith and Ben Wagland of Georgia, the No. 1-seed in the tournament. Seraphim and Skander Mansouri, the No. 5-seed in the tournament, will take on qualifying duo Herkko Pollanan and Mikael Torpegaard of Ohio State.
