
Wake Forest Closes Fall Slate on High Note

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Wake Forest women's tennis wrapped up its 2015 fall slate Sunday with a stellar showing at the Tennessee Invite against Tennessee and Arizona State to carry momentum into the 2016 spring slate set to open in January.
Emma Davis and Samantha Asch capped perfect singles weekends with victories against opponents from Tennessee as Davis topped Eve Repic 6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4 while Asch beat Kim Kermet 6-4, 6-4.
Kimmy Guerin, Joanna Zalewski and Andrea Retolaza Andrade each also posted singles victories Sunday as Guerin finished a 2-1 weekend with a win over Tennessee's Sadie Hammond 7-6 (2), 6-2, Zalewski capped a 2-1 showing with a win over the Vols' 6-1, 6-1 and Retolaza Andrade went 2-0 with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over UT's Tiffany Tavares.
Wake Forest also took two of three doubles matchups against duos from Arizona State. Guerin paired with Kasey Gardiner to win their singles match 6-4 over Desirae Krawczyk and Alexandra Osborne while Asch and Davis topped Ebony Panoho and Stephanie Vlad 6-2.
With the fall season in the books, Wake Forest will return to action on January 18 with a doubleheader at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex against College of Charleston and Winthrop.
