Wake Forest to Compete in 2016 Gildan Charleston Classic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's basketball team will compete in the 2016 Gildan Charleston Classic as the tournament announced next year's eight-team field on Thursday. The Demon Deacons will be joined by host College of Charleston, Boise State, Mississippi State, UCF, UTEP, Villanova and Western Michigan in the event, which airs on the ESPN family of networks.
The tournament will be held Nov. 17, 18 and 20, 2016 at the TD Arena in Charleston, S.C.
It is the Demon Deacons' first appearance in the nine-year history of the Charleston Classic. Wake Forest's last game in Charleston came in 1996-97, an 86-52 victory at The Citadel.
The bracket and game times for the tournament will be announced over the summer.
