WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- In its first game in 11 days, the Wake Forest men's basketball team used a 13-point second-half run to defeat in-state foe UNC Greensboro, 81-71, on Tuesday evening at the LJVM Coliseum.

The Demon Deacons improved to 7-2 on the season, including a 3-1 mark at home. Codi Miller-McIntyre, the team's leading returning scorer from a year ago, had three points and a pair of rebounds in his 2015-16 debut after missing the first eight games with a fractured foot.

Konstantinos Mitoglou led the Deacs with a season-best 22 points, while Devin Thomas collected his sixth double-double of the year on 18 points and 10 rebounds. Greg McClinton also reached double figures, finishing with 11 points.

In the first half, the Deacons raced out to a 9-2 lead, but the Spartans bounced back quickly to go in front, 12-11. Later in the half, Wake Forest went on a 10-2 run to grab its biggest cushion of the opening stanza at 31-22, but UNCG once again rallied to cut its deficit to two at halftime, 38-36.

Mitoglou sunk three of his four 3-point attempts and led the Deacs with 11 points at the break. He set a new season high with four 3-pointers made on the night and hit all eight of his free throw attempts.

The Spartans knotted the score at 45 with just under 16 minutes to play, but the Deacs reeled off 13-consecutive points to create all the separation they would need en route to the 10-point victory.

UNCG trimmed the Demon Deacons' edge to six at 61-55, but the Deacons prevented the Spartans from making it any closer.

The Deacs are now 9-0 all-time against UNC Greensboro.

Wake Forest closes out a season-long four-game homestand by playing host to Coastal Carolina on Friday and taking on 10th-ranked Xavier next Tuesday.

CODI'S BACK
• After missing the first eight games of the season with a foot fracture suffered in mid-October, senior guard Codi Miller-McIntyre, the Deacons' top returning scorer from 2014-15, made his season debut on Tuesday.
• Miller-McIntyre played 15 minutes and finished with three points, two rebounds and two assists.
• The Concord, N.C. native passed Ishmael Smith for 39th on the school's all-time scoring list. He now has 1,115 career points.

MARGIN OF VICTORY
• Wake Forest's 10-point win marked the team's largest margin of victory this season, besting an eight-point triumph at Bucknell on Nov. 15.
• The Demon Deacons' 13-point run over a 4:07 span in the second half matched their longest of the season. They also scored 13-straight points against Bucknell.
• The Deacs are now 6-0 on the year when leading at halftime.

THOMAS' DOUBLE-DOUBLE
• With 18 points and 10 rebounds, senior forward Devin Thomas recorded his 27th-career double-double, tying Deacon legend Dickie Hemric for seventh in Wake Forest history.
• This marked Thomas' sixth double-double in nine games this season.
• Thomas' 26-career double-doubles lead all active ACC players.
• In addition to his double-double, Thomas had five blocks and five assists, matching his career-high in both categories.
