
Craig, Mondou Selected as Preseason All-Americans

TUCSON, Ariz. – Wake Forest juniors Will Craig and Nate Mondou each received Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America honors, announced by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Tuesday.
Craig, a consensus All-American and ACC Player of the Year a season ago, is the first team honoree at third base, where he is expected to play after spending 2015 at first base. The Johnson City, Tennessee native hit .382 a season ago with 13 homers and 58 RBIs to go along with 20 doubles and 41 walks with only 24 strikeouts.
Mondou is a second team selection at second base, where he started every game for Wake Forest last year. The Lake Tapps, Washington native hit .338 with 10 longballs and 57 RBIs last year, also adding 18 doubles and five steals. Mondou was a first team All-ACC pick and third team Louisville Slugger All-American last year.
The Demon Deacons also received votes in the Collegiate Baseball preseason poll released on Monday after finishing 27-26 a year ago. Wake Forest opens the season with a home tournament from Feb. 19-21, with games slated against Georgetown, UMBC and VMI that weekend.
