WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Parker Dunshee dominated and the offense got off to a hot start as Wake Forest shut out Towson 7-0 at Gene Hooks Field at Wake Forest Baseball Park on Friday afternoon.

Nate Mondou hit his first home run of the season, finishing 3-for-4 with a double and career-high four RBIs in addition to the blast to lead the Wake Forest (5-4) offense.

Dunshee and the Deacons needed just one hour and 50 minutes to dispatch Towson (0-5), making it the quickest game since a 5-3 win over Ohio in 1997, which took the same length.

The sophomore remained perfect on the mound, improving to 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, tossing 7.0 innings without allowing a run or walk. He gave up just one hit in the sixth inning, and struck out nine batters.

Dunshee twice struck out the side, including using the minimum nine pitches to whiff three batters in the fourth. He threw just 74 pitches in his 7.0 innings of work.

Offensively, Wake Forest scored three runs on the first three pitches the team saw. Kevin Conway was hit by the first pitch, Jonathan Pryor drilled a double on the second, and Mondou put the third over the right-field wall to give the Deacons a 3-0 first-inning lead.

The Deacs picked up where they left off the next inning, with a Pryor sacrifice fly, Mondou RBI single and Will Craig two-run double plating the final four runs of the game.

Will Finley made his first appearance in more than 11 months on the mound, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out two in 2.0 frames to close out the game.

FIRST TIMERS
Aaron Smith picked up the first hit of his career in the late innings, finishing 1-for-2 at the plate.
Bruce Steel recorded his first extra-base hit, smacking a double into the left-field corner.
