Wake Forest Tournament History
11 of 15 schools in the field are ranked in the Top 50 by Golfstat, including three in the top 25. Four teams in the field are ranked in the top 30 in the Golfweek rankings, including Wake Forest at No. 16.
This will be the Demon Deacons 23rd appearance at the tournament but first since 2004.
Wake Forest is tied with Oklahoma State for the most Schenkel team titles with six. The Demon Deacons won the event in 1972, 1974, 1976, 1978, 1986 and 2003.
A Demon Deacon has been the individual winner at Schenkel six times: Jim Simons (1972), Curtis Strange (1974), Robert Wrenn (1978), Gary Halberg (1979), Chris Kite (1986) and Brent Wanner (2003).
Chris Kite holds the tournament record for lowest 54-hole individual score with a 21-under 195 to win the event in 1986.

Wake Forest is ranked No. 22 by Golfstat.com and No. 16 by Golfweek.
Two Demon Deacons ranked in the top 50 by Golfweek led by Will Zalatoris at No. 13. Davis Womble comes in at No. 49.
Freshman Will Zalatoris was named to the Ben Hogan Award Watchlist. He is the only freshman on the list for the award given to the top men's collegiate golfer. . Bill Haas is the only Demon Deacon to win the award as he was named the top golfer in 2004. Webb Simpson was named a semifinalist for the award in 2008 and Brendan Gielow was a semifinalist in 2010.
Wake Forest won two tournaments in the fall including the Primland Collegiate Invitational and the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Freshman Will Zalatoris took medalist honors with a 10-under 134 at the Bank of Tennessee.
