This scholarship supports one of Wake Forest’s most-storied programs and helps provide a World Class Student-Athlete Experience.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest Athletics is proud to announce the Cameron Young Family Men's Golf Scholarship, a defining gift to strengthen one of Wake Forest's most accomplished programs. This endowed scholarship, established by Cameron Young ('19) and his wife, Kelsey, was made possible through his generosity and commitment to giving back to the program that helped shape his journey.
The gift not only honors Young's legacy as a Demon Deacon and PGA Tour professional but also provides meaningful support to future student-athletes, helping ensure Wake Forest men's golf continues to thrive and develop champions both on and off the course for years to come.
A standout competitor during his collegiate career, Young played a pivotal role in continuing to uphold Wake Forest men's golf's rich history during his time in Winston-Salem. Known for his consistency, work ethic, and leadership, he earned five collegiate tournament victories and three All-ACC honors, establishing himself among the most accomplished players in program history.
Young's relationship with Wake Forest began when he arrived on campus as one of the nation's top junior golfers, but his growth extended far beyond tournament results. Throughout his collegiate career, he credited Wake Forest with instilling values that continue to guide him today including discipline, accountability, and leading with integrity. Those principles shaped not only his development as a golfer but also his approach to leadership and competition.
His success at Wake Forest has laid a strong foundation for his transition to professional golf and prepared him to compete at the highest levels of the sport. After graduating from Wake Forest, Young turned professional and quickly made his mark on the PGA Tour. He earned Rookie of the Year honors and established himself as a consistent contender on golf's biggest stages, competing alongside the world's best players.
Competing week after week, Young has continued to represent Wake Forest with pride. Despite the demands of professional competition, he has remained closely connected to the Demon Deacon community. Young recalls often feeling the support of Wake Forest fans in attendance at tour events, particularly when competing in North Carolina and on the game's most visible stages. On March 15, 2026, Young claimed the prestigious Players Championship and has earned 29 top-10 finishes.
"Having the Deacs behind me always means a lot," Young said. "It keeps me connected to Wake Forest and reminds me of an important part of my journey, no matter where I'm playing."
By establishing this scholarship, Young joins a proud tradition of Wake Forest golf alumni who continue to support and strengthen the program for those who follow in their footsteps. His generosity underscores the power of alumni engagement and reinforces the values that have long defined Wake Forest Athletics and the Demon Deacon golf family.
"Wake Forest gave me an unbelievable foundation, not just in golf but in life. The coaches, the teammates, the expectations here, all of it has helped shape who I am," Young said. "This scholarship is really about giving others the same opportunity I had. I'm proud to stay connected and support Wake Forest Golf."
