Deacs Welcome Syracuse, NC State>>
Wake Forest will finish out the home portion of its schedule this weekend with matches against Syracuse and NC State.
Senior Karen Forman, who has earned more than 100 victories in her career at Wake Forest, will be recognized on Sunday prior to the match against NC State, as well as senior manager Akina Anand.
Last Time Out >>
Though pulling out two points, Wake Forest could not hold off No. 63 Boston College in a 5-2 loss at home last Sunday.
Kimmy Guerin took care of No. 87 Jessica Wacnik in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, on No. 1. The match followed a grueling three-set match at No. 1 two days prior against Notre Dame's Quinn Gleason.
The Deacs' other point on the afternoon came from Forman, who topped BC's Wan-Yi Sweeting 6-3, 6-3.
Storylines >>
Sunday is Senior Day for the Deacs. Karen Forman, who surpassed the 100-win mark in a Wake Forest uniform earlier this season in the Demon Deacons' 7-0 sweep of UNCG, will be recognized along with senior manager Akina Anand.
With one more victory this season, Wake Forest will have posted the most wins in a single season since the 2009 campaign when it won 13 contests.
The Deacs are tied with Louisville for 12th place in the ACC standings with three matches to go. Wake Forest is looking to improve on a 13th-place finish last season.
This season, Wake has posted at least 10 wins at each of the six singles positions. Last year, the Deacs only won 10 or more matches at No. 3 and 6.
Scouting the Irish and Eagles >>
Syracuse is just a half a game ahead of the Deacons in the ACC standings, meaning Saturday's match will have big ACC Championship seeding implications. The Orange have not beat a ranked opponent this season.
NC State, with a 1-9 ACC mark, sits below Wake Forest in the conference standings. NC State's resume features two wins over Top 75 foes, but both victories came early in the 2015 campaign.
The Deacs are looking to avenge a late-season 4-3 loss to Syracuse last year. Wake Forest prevailed over NC State last season by the final score of 4-3 and is looking to continue its success against the Wolfpack having won 47 of the 53 all-time matchups.
Looking Ahead >>
The Deacons' final contest of the regular season will take place next weekend against Duke. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will be played at the Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.
After concluding the regular season against the Blue Devils, Wake Forest will enter ACC Tournament play in Cary, North Carolina. Its opponent is still to be determined.
