Marissa Dodd Earns First Professional Win

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Former Wake Forest golfer Marissa Dodd earned her first professional victory at Stallion Mountain in Las Vegas on the Cactus Tour.

Dodd turned in rounds of 65-70-79 to finish the tournament at 2-under. She tied for the individual lead and won the tournament in a playoff. Dodd's first professional victory comes one week after her pro debut. In her first professional tournament at Silverstone Country Club in Las Vegas, Dodd tied for the individual lead at 9-under but fell to Dana Finkelstein in a playoff.

The next Cactus Tour event is scheduled to begin June 29 at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The Cactus Tour was created in 2005 for professional women golfers as a place to play outside of the LPGA and The Symetra.
