Den Dunnen and Pate Capture Top-Three Finish, Deacs Grab Fourth at Moon Golf

This marks den Dunnen’s first top-five finish of the season and second for Pate.
MELBOURNE, Fla. - With strong performances from junior Macy Pate and senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen, the no.7-ranked Wake Forest women's golf team claimed a fourth place finish among a highly competitive field at the Moon Golf Invitational at Suntree CC in Melbourne, Fla. The Demon Deacons finished above No. 5 Florida, as well as above all conference opponents.
Ranked No. 13 on Scoreboard, Pate posted the Deacs' lone under-par score of the day and remained at two-under after three days for a top three finish. Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen matched Pate's two-under after an even-par third round for another top three finish
Den Dunnen totaled 11 birdies, the most among the Deacs, and third on the individual boards. The competition marked her highest career-finish, surpassing her fifth-place finish at last year's competition.
Moving up nine spots from the previous, graduate student Morgan Ketchum finished the day at one-over par at T53 through three rounds. Sophomore Chloe Kovelesky matched yesterday's round at three-over to wrap at T59, while graduate student Casey Weidenfeld shot seven over to climb one spot from round two.
