TUSCON, Ariz. - Wake Forest's Stuart Fairchild was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Wednesday.

Fairchild put together one of the best rookie campaigns in Wake Forest history. All-time among freshmen, he ranks tied for fourth in hits (68) and stolen bases (12), ninth in doubles (14), and 10th in batting average (.349).

This marks the second straight year Wake Forest has had an honoree, with Will Craig earning the recognition a year ago.

Fairchild is one of 12 ACC student-athletes to garner the accolade.

He becomes the third Demon Deacon to receive a Louisville Slugger All-American honor this year, as Craig was named a First Team All-American and Nate Mondou was tabbed as a Third Team All-American.
